Nimble Road Racer: 1964 Ford Galaxie 500 XL
Race on Sunday, sell on Monday. That’s what Ford thought back in the 1960’s. They challenged the competition in almost every form of motor racing possible. The Fastback featured here, was created mostly for the ovals, running successfully on NASCAR circuits throughout the country. We’ve seen them on road courses as well and that must have been a sight to see. This Tribute is set-up for fun with a 390, Tri-Power and a 4-speed. The racing tires and decals sell the entire effort and the stance is pretty low. These Tributes sell well at auctions including a recent sale at Barrett-Jackson for a similar car with a 427. At $19,000, this is one of those “you can’t build one for this price” kind of cars. Not sure what you can do with it, but we like it a lot. On Craigslist.
