I Fly Bleifrei: Citroen 2CV “Vert Bamboo”
The Germans had The People’s Car and the French had the Toute Petite Voiture. Both survive to this day albeit in somewhat modernized form. The first prototypes of the Petite Voiture were ready in 1938 but WW 2 got in the way of just about everything French. We had to wait until the Paris Auto Salon in 1948 for the public introduction. Now dubbed (no VW reference meant) the 2CV for 2 horses – the funny scale for power the French used back then. And that little bit of history brings us to this really green special version of the 2CV. Ironically, its first owner was the President of the 2CV Club in Germany. It found its way to a fun-loving US owner who used it sparingly. Now fully detailed and serviced with a scant 12,000 miles. If you are the shy, retiring type you probably stopped reading a while ago. If you are from Hollywood, we had you at hello. We don’t know how much the asking price is but it is in Denver and featured on this Deux Cheveux specialist website.
Now if they can find us an old Sahara…
