Drive Every Day: ’86 Porsche 911 Targa

This site is about great or interesting cars. Some are great to look at and some are great to drive. Thankfully, not all great and interesting cars are rare or expensive. When you drill down to hi-performance sports cars of the 80s (or any decade), you’ll see that a Porsche is somewhere on the top of many enthusiasts’ list. Why? They are extremely well-built, beautifully designed, make great sounds, and are fast and reliable. They are Porsches. Some people don’t get it mainly because they have never had enough seat time to fall in love. The Targa we have on offer today is in a great color, Meteor Gray Metallic, with low original miles and it is from Texas. That’s the way you want one – not necessarily the Texas part. The option list is not overwhelming but it has what it needs including a Turbo whale-tail. Not our favorite but it works, The interior is original and the leather is still supple, no dash cracks and the Targa top is in good condition. This is a canyon cruiser (if you live near a canyon).
