Foundation Bug: ’59 Volkswagen Beetle Sunroof

Volkswagen Beetle SunroofThe Volkswagen Beetle started a lot of things in motion. We wouldn’t enjoy the fruits of Ferdinand Porsche’s imagination had it not been for the VW Bug. The Beetle is formerly known as the Type 1 or 111 within the VW Group. This offering is an early car with a fabric sliding sunroof. The seller refers to it as a ragtop. We’ve heard that before but we reserve that for term for convertibles. It is an exceptional car in a really good color. This VW has led a charmed early life in California car covering a scant 96,000 miles. Volkswagen Beetle SunroofIt is a numbers matching 36 h.p. engine and in fact all the mechanicals are as they were when it left the factory. A rare accomplishment for a VW that usually ends up cobbled up somehow. The interior is in fine shape with mohair headliner, square weave carpets and an original Sapphire radio (needs repair). After a nearly 2 year restoration, it has hit the show circuit winning 15 1st places and has appeared in a number of international VW magazines. The car resides now in Connecticut and is offered at a rarified price of $18,500. But with these credentials, who is to say it isn’t worth it. See more by clicking here.Volkswagen Beetle Sunroof
