Almost New: ’66 Buick Riviera

Buick Riviera

We are big fans of 1st and 2nd generation Buick Rivieras. We featured a 1st generation car with knife-edge styling last month so it is fitting to follow that car with perhaps the best ’66 out there today. Clean, flowing lines are evident in the 1966 Buick Riviera as a wonderfully elegant example of automotive design. The Riv’s 119-inch wheelbase chassis was a rear-drive variant of the new perimeter-frame design used by the contemporary 1966 front-wheel-drive Oldsmobile Toronado. A 340-hp Buick “nailhead” V-8 was standard in all 1966 Rivieras.  Buick RivieraLike any high volume production car, condition is everything when selecting a 1966 Buick Riviera. Exceptional cars are rare, breathtakingly beautiful and sure to enjoy continued appreciation. If that is true then how can you fault this 34,000 mile unrestored example. It appears flawless in the images provided particularly the interior with the optional Strato-Bucket seats and full length console. Buick RivieraIt shows almost no wear. The Red Poly exterior is the original color and has been resprayed. But those unadorned flanks are not forgiving of flaws so it looks pretty good. All of the mechanicals are said to function and the 425 ci/340HP Nailhead is original to the car. It is just beautiful and an easy way to get into the collector car market with a very useable car. It will make you proud at a car show and get you a good spot with the restaurant valet attendant. See more images on the eBay auction by clicking here.Buick Riviera
