Elvis had one…really: ’61 MGA 1600 Roadster

One of our favorite Elvis movies is Blue Hawaii. Elvis is seen driving a red MGA in a good portion of the early scenes in the movie. MGA legend has it that Elvis liked it so much he bought it. It is now part of the permanent collection of Elvis cars at Graceland. The MGA is the quintessential British sports car. And the 1600 is one of the nicer versions. It has 78 hp and disc brakes up front. This one we have today, courtesy of Brighton Motorsports, is a recent fully restored car performed by the 2nd owner who has cherished it since 1968. It looks great in white and the choice of interior color is not seen everyday. We also like the toned down look of the steelie wheels as the owner resisted the bling of chrome wires. Good choice. The mechanicals were all attended to during the restoration so this could be one of those turn-key cars. The owner has put 2,000 miles on it since completion so it should be well sorted. SCM has #1 cars well into the $30 grand area and we suspect this one could be close to that number. See more at the eBay auction by clicking here.
