SOLD! Hanger Find: ’64 Corvette Stingray
Let’s just cut to the story. You all know the origin of the Corvette Stingray and we celebrate the return of the fabled nameplate this year with the introduction of the C7. So this is how it goes…You are walking through Cable Airport and you see some guy standing around and you ask him, “any old Corvettes parked around here that haven’t seen the light of day in 25 years?” He answers, “sure, right this way.” Okay, so that isn’t quite the way it happened but the results are the same. Someone discovered an original, Riverside Red, 329/300, 4-speed Coupe with factory A/C in a hanger. It’s a bit rough but it is all there. The Coupe has everything it came with from wheel covers to switch knobs including all the rare A/C bits perfectly in place. The odometer reads under 65,000 miles and it could be correct. The seller states the block is a factory replacement but the rest of the big parts came with the car. So that hurts the value a bit for sure. But it is exciting to see it now and imagine what it might turn out to be in the hands of the next owner. Is that you? We are not sure without closer inspection if this is one of those “clean it up and get it running” hanger finds. What would you do? See the listing on eBay by clicking here.
It is refreshing to see one like this in its mostly natural state.
