Another bubble: ’61 Pontiac Bonneville Hardtop Coupe
We posted a Bubble Top Chevy 409 last week to rave reviews. It was a stunning example. Well Pontiac had a version of the same body and it is equally breathtaking. Look at the length of the front and rear sections of this car. And the greenhouse is so well proportioned. Today’s find is a rust free 1961 Pontiac Bonneville 2 door Hardtop Sports coupe ‘Bubble Roof’ in original factory ‘Jadestone Green Metallic’ color paint with original ‘Shelton Ivory’ roof. It is equipped with the original correct ‘TB’ code 389 4-barrel V8 engine with many factory options including: automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, back-up lights, deluxe steering wheel, Tri-Tone ‘Blue’ interior, original Pontiac ‘Super Deluxe’ radio, heater, dual exhausts and factory air conditioning! My kingdom for a set of 8-lug wheels! This is a full restoration on a rust free and always garaged car. By now you know we at Mint have eclectic tastes. We feel these Bubble Top cars from GM represent a great leap forward in design for the period. Granted, they are a bit large but those were the days. Read more at the eBay listing by clicking here.
