Wedgie: ’64 Dodge 330 Max Wedge

We know, you are probably thinking that the folks at Mint have finally fallen off their rocker. Why would they feature a plain-Jane, homely looking Dodge or think anyone in their right mind would want to buy it. Well, grasshopper, if you underestimate this Dodge you have fallen into a trap set back in1964. You see this is a Max Wedge Dodge and that probably means a conservative 415 horsepower. Part of the Max Wedge appeal is that they were the fastest cars of their day, but, they didn’t look the part. Most people find them homely. With the exception of the hood scoop, there is no tip-off to distinguish a Max Wedge from a standard grocery-getter. But make no mistake, Max Wedges can embarrass a brand-new Viper. We are talking 12 second quarter mile times here. Today’s featured car is an almost all original car. The only exception being a new ”66 transmission. But the paint, interior and trim are original and the documentation is all there to verify that it is the real deal. This is an historic drag racer that has been used as a reference car for other restorations. That will have some impact on what people might want to pay for it.
