Three people liked it: ’73 Porsche 911 T Targa
It is unlikely that this really wonderful 911 is a color change from Guards Red. You see, in the Porsche universe, which is pretty opinionated, Sepia Brown is a very unloved color. However, this Targa is on its 3rd owner and it is still Sepia Brown. It must be an exceptional car mechanically. We have just expressed an opinion we do not share with Porschefiles. We sort of like Sepia Brown. Truthfully, we don’t care so much about the color of an early 911. We much prefer a car that is an unrestored, original car than a car in a flashy color like Viper Green (we love Viper Green). Brown, like all colors, will have its day once again. Be a trailblazer, set the style and buy this Porsche. This particular Porsche year is interesting. It is the year Porsche introduced fuel-injection to the 911T mid-production. By looking at the engine photo we can tell it is a fuelie. We had a Tangerine T of this vintage and it is an amazingly tractable car. Other good things about this one? The 3 previous owner’s appear to have taken good care of the car. The interior looks original and in good condition. The bottom is clean-looking from the photos. There isn’t much discussion on the mechanicals. You need to make sure the chain tensioners are updated and there are maintenance records to go along with the books. All in all, it looks like one to bid on if you want a good solid early 911. More photos on the eBay listing by clicking here.
