Call a Cab: ’61 Porsche 1600 Cabriolet

This 1600 Cabriolet hails from Liberal, Kansas. Not sure if that is an oxymoron or not. The tone of the listing suggests it is a long-term owner although it isn’t stated. The seller says it is a factory white, Reutter-bodied car with all of the proper numbers matching  the Kardex. Other than 2 cracks in the dash, the seller doesn’t say much about the complete condition of the car. The “original” wood steering wheel just doesn’t look original having what appears to be too small a diameter for the period. Tell us if we are wrong. We are impressed by the valuations for even these 60 hp Cabriolets. Hagerty has a #3 car at a paltry $48 grand. Bump it up to a #2 and you can write a check for $88 grand. A #1 car will set you back a nice 3-bedroom home in Liberal, Kansas (just guessing). The seller is asking $68,000 so we should assume it is a strong #3 or maybe a little better.
