The Last Batch: ’67 Austin-Healey 3000 MKIII
The Big Healeys had a really great run selling well from the early 1950s until the last batch was built in 1967. To celebrate the Austin-Healey’s final ride into the sunset, the powers-that-be authorized a limited edition of 553 Golden Beige MKIIIs. This offering. is one of those last 553. And someone knew back then that this would be a significant sports car because it has been meticulously cared for its entire life. Yes, Mint loyal readers, it is virtually all original from the vinyl soft top, to the Armacord trunk liner, Lucas headlamps, and the complete interior. The paint didn’t fare as well and it was resprayed properly in the 1970s. The engine was rebuilt after a long period of storage in 1987 and runs beautifully. The listing is very thorough and we would be repeating the word original if we continue any further. Big Healeys have cooled a little bit but the best restored cars by marque experts still bring huge money. We prefer cars in this condition and would gladly pay $72,500 for it but Healeys already have a check mark next to the name on our bucket list. Click here to contact the seller.
