Totally biased: ’66 Austin-Healey 3000 MKIII

Austin Healey 3000 MKIII

It does seem like great, original British sports cars are popping up all over. For the record, we here at Mint appreciate a wide range of cars and trucks. So if it appears that we have latched on to a particular brand, it is more apt to be a unique opportunity for you and we want to make sure you see it. The godfather (lowercase) of car finders, Mike M., sent this in on the heels of another low mileage Healey. But this one (stay with us) looks like someone just traded it in on a new ’73 Jaguar. It has that back in the 70s used car look. And that is a remarkable achievement. Austin Healey 3000 MKIII The paint is original with plenty of patina as does the interior. We haven’t inspected the interior in person but if it is as decent as it looks it would be a crime to monkey with it. All 4 tires are biased and wearing spiffy whitewalls. Well, at one time they were white. We would save them to drive the Healey Club originality gurus crazy. Probably a good set of Vrederstein Classics would perform well. Please, no chrome wire wheels – yes to powder-coated 60-spoke wheels as a smart upgrade. If you are itching for a restoration job please look at another car. This is a good running, 33,000 mile time capsule. We know Donald Healey made scores of people happy by signing their restored Healey cubby (glove) box door. Given the opportunity to do the same with this MK III, we are confident he would smile and say “why ruin such a beautiful car with my scrawl.” Contact the seller by clicking here.Austin Healey 3000 MKIII
