Unchopped: ’32 Ford 5-Window Coupe

Just a few hours ago, the Mint team was putting the finishing touches on the Mercedes 230S for its appearance at The Greenwich Concours. Of course, while mindlessly polishing brightwork or cleaning windows, we began to discuss what would be buy “if”. Quite by accident, we all agreed that an original 50s hot rod would be very cool to have. Although we love the Rat Rod – Shop Truck craze, there’s something about an original vintage hot rod that draws us in. And guess what turns up in our mailbox hours later (thanks to our frequent contributor, Arthur B.)? A real, famous Ford hot rod. It is none other than Dick Faulk’s Custom Rodder Magazine cover car. Since it is a custom, the list of modifications goes on and on so its better to go to the listing than repeat it here. What we will note is that is in original 1950s condition. This is a project car that needs to be finished but it doesn’t sound like it will be years worth of work to get it back to cover car status. And it is an eBay auction with quite a few bids already.
