Its Got Klasse: ’95 Mercedes-Benz E320 Cabriolet
Internally, one of Mercedes-Benz most enduring and long running models is referred to as a W124. Regular people called them E300s or E320s. Either way, the W124s were the safest Mercedes-Benz cars built, with the last cars featuring dual airbags, traction control and an automatic roll bar on the cabriolet. If you like gadgets, the W124s had some of the most complete standard equipment lists available at the time, including driver airbag, ABS, sunroof, and an option list that came to include automatic locking differential, orthopedic seats, ASR and some other neat items. The W124 Cabriolets are the last of the truly hand-built five passenger convertibles. Only 3,676 were manufactured in 1995, the last and most desirable year of the W124 production run. And that is what we have featured here today. We’ve actually seen this car in the flesh and it is astounding. It looks like it was born to be black mainly because it looks fabulous particularly with the offsetting light grey leather interior. If you do not buy these cars right, they can be expensive to maintain. So old saying “buy the best you can” works here. The seller states it sailed through a Mercedes 100-point inspection and that’s about as hard as winning the triple crown (maybe not that hard, but hard). The price is $33,900.
