Has Log Book: ’57 Porsche 356 A Race Car
Race cars are meant to be fast. Duh! But some builders make performance their only criteria. Or maybe safety is first? We are sure the safety inspectors will make sure the race car hasn’t been neglected. Vintage racing is exciting to do and great for the spectators but make no mistake, it is dangerous. When we came across this race-prepared 356 we knew this must be an immaculate build. In addition to it being well prepared, it has lost none of the charm of the street version. In other words, it is gorgeous to look at too. The 356 has lots of race history under the scrutiny of most of the vintage racing sanctioning bodies. The VSCCA Log Book is key. There are few people so well-known to a particular model car like the Porsche 356 than Vic Skirmants. You mention his name and you know it is one of the best. Skirmants did both the engine and transmission of this car. The seller states that it is fully certified for safety too with reinforced suspension, roll bar, battery cut off and racing belts. The car has the original chassis number and with a little tuning probably can be made into a streetable car. We like that. Click here for the eBay listing.
