Battleship: ’89 Mercedes-Benz 560SL
If you have ever had the pleasure of driving an R107 Model Mercedes SL you probably came away thinking it was an elegant, beautiful car built like a battleship. Some say it is one of the last great Mercedes Benz automobiles with impeccable build quality. They were built nicely but they weren’t without fault. The climate control systems on the later cars are a bit notorious. The 380SLs didn’t have the best powerplant. In fact, we shy away from them entirely. It’s the 560SL that is the ultimate W107. The engine is almost indestructible and it has a fair amount of power. Today’s find hails from Florida so we can assume it has been owned by a multi-car, Multi-residence senior citizen household. It doesn’t matter who owned it. It is what it is. We liked this one for its bright Polar White exterior and light grey leather interior. In hot weather with the top down, it will make you feel cool. We like the Euro headlights too. These haven’t hit the collectible level yet but nice ones like this one are getting some love and attention. And where can you get an almost new car of this quality for crappy Korean car money. There is a Buy It Now of $21,000 so get your checkbook ready and click here to contact the seller.
