Appropriate for the holiday weekend: ’49 Willys JEEP
The Willys Jeep is one of those American automotive icons. Born out of necessity, the Jeep has become a symbol of America and played a hugely important role in battle. Of course this is a civilian version built after the war in 1949. But few Jeep CJ2As were built making them pretty rare. The seller states 2,182 and if that is true, it really is a rarity. The survival rate of early Jeeps isn’t that great so finding one that has made it through the sands of time and treated to a full restoration is a really nice find. Everything has been done to make it 100% like new. It has accumulated a few thousand miles since the restoration and the seller states it is well sorted. The 12V conversion was a good idea and we aren’t sure how original the seat covers are but we don’t really care – they are pretty cool. Sports Car Market has a top CJ2A pulling in $18,000 but I think there will be quite a few people wanting this one really bad. The seller is hoping for $30,000 and that might be a stretch.
