Hot: ’66 Volvo P1800S
After decades of having a blind-eye towards anything from Sweden, the collector car enthusiast has finally seen the light. Yes, they now know what legions of Volvo-isti (invented here) have known for years: the P1800S is a satisfyingly beautiful and well-built sports car. We are beginning to see quite a few P1800S examples that have great potential from what we can tell by the limited information given in some of the ads we are sent. But we know you wouldn’t buy one of these without someone looking at it in the flesh, right? You see, these P1800s are prone to rust and that means all P1800s including the celebrated black plate California cars. Sellers sometimes don’t even know their cars have fallen victim so it isn’t always someone trying to deceive you. The mechanical components however are very robust and parts and support are plentiful. There are some delicate trim items on the exterior and interior however that are almost impossible to find so make sure your candidate has all of what it was born with. Now with all of that said, we selected today’s featured P1800S because it looks like it might be all there and in pretty decent shape. Plus it is said to have fewer than 60,000 miles. We like the color too making it stand out in a crowd of Irv Gordon Red cars at the next Volvo meet. If you are interested in getting a project going that won’t take you to the poor house, you might want to give the seller a call. Contact the seller by clicking here.
Just the way I like ’em. Two caring owners, low mileage original. Drive it and improve it over time. Smart way to buy a vintage car.
