Flat-Fender Fans: ’54 JEEP CJ-3B
Neighborhoods in New York City have a tradition of having a nickname. You can go all the way back to the infamous 5-Corners (Gangs of New York) to present day DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass). Followers of a specific make and model cars have the same honor within the collector car hobby. Here we have a JEEP CJ-3B and it has the distinction of having flat-fenders so admirers of these jewels are known as flat-fender fans. Ferrari owners have a wide range of nicknames from Tifosi to names we shouldn’t mention on a family website. This is a really fine example of an early Willys JEEP. It is made even neater by a coat of Porsche Guards Red. It is totally restored by a gentleman in Texas some years ago but is said to have held up well. The seller is doing some carb fiddling but other than that, it is ready to go. It has a winch up front and a PTO in the rear. If you don’t know how useful a PTO is then you probably don’t need one. A Power Take Off allows you to use all sorts of accessories and can be quite useful on the back forty. The seller has a Buy It Now of $13,900. Hard to tell if that is right on but it certainly feels right if you need an old JEEP. Click here for the auction listing.
