Deep in the heart of: ’67 Jaguar Mark 2 3.4
We really like the whole idea of these pint-sized Jaguar sedans. By pint-sized we mean it isn’t the big, luxurious Mark IX or X. These smaller sedans possess some really fine auto parts right off the XKE parts counter minus a carb or two. Once sorted out, these old Jags are quite the comfortable event cars, great for those long distance rallies or tours. The ideal version is the 4-speed manual transmission cars of which this, our featured car, is one. It has been sitting in a garage/barn for 33 years next to an Austin-Healey so it at least had something to talk to. It is said to be in original condition with all original paint and interior. We can’t tell for sure but wouldn’t it be great if all the paint and chrome needed was some love and attention? The interior could look a lot worse. The wood isn’t awful, the leather trim on some of the accessories is still there. The seller says the top of the rear seat is toast so that might need some attention. The engine hasn’t been run in 33 years but they might try to get it started by soaking the cylinders. Can you imagine if they get it going and it is somewhat useable? Useable yes, roadworthy no. Whoever buys this project (and I know someone who might), will have to do a step-by-step clean and evaluation. You might be able to make this a decent car for not a ton of money. Then again, that will require lots of time and dedication so be prepared to do it yourself. If you are just going to write checks, find another. Forgot to mention it has factory A/C although we can’t seem to see any vents for it. Click here for the eBay auction.
