Harold’s: ’50 Lincoln EL-Series
Harold Petersen bought this beauty in 1950 from Burris Lincoln-Metropolitan-Mercury in Paterson, New Jersey. He kept it for 58 years documenting every gas fill and oil change during that time. We suspect he really loved this car and it deserves some respect from us here at Mint. Too bad he only enjoyed 78,000 miles of driving. This EL-Series Lincoln was the first of the shared bodies with the Mercury Division. It is also the first Lincoln Series to not have a V-12 engine. We think Harold did a fabulous job specifying this car. We love the Black over Green and the green cloth interior. There are many parts of the car that are original and in good shape. It appears the body was refinished to a decent standard and the brightwork looks good. We think the interior looks a little rushed although the seller states the new seat covers are made of original material. These aren’t huge in valuation at all. Hagerty has really nice cars like this one changing hands at $20 to $30 thousand. Contact the seller because Harold’s Lincoln needs a new home.
