Ground Up: ’69 MGB GT
We really like the look of these small GTs. People say it is a poor person’s Jaguar and we quite agree. Not the poor person part but an alternative to the Jaguar for more budget conscious aficionados. The design is truly classic with great proportions. And you can’t deny the flexibility the Coupe brings to those who really like to travel long distances in their classic car. This car has been totally restored with a great photo album to document every step. And whoever buys this one, gets a new car for not a lot of money. It has 2 demerits: it has no overdrive and it isn’t the more desireable steel dash model. On the other hand it has tasteful upgrades including; Alloy Head, Minitour Wheels, Stainless Brake and Oil lines, Stainless Exhaust System, Wooden Steering Wheel, Hi Torque Starter. The seller is asking $18,500 and I defy you to duplicate that if you start on a car now. Click here for the Craigslist ad.
I agree completely having restored one myself. You just can’t build this car for the asking price. This example is very tastefully done I might add.
