Better in blue: ’86 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe
Since Porsche is one of the most successful sports car brands of all time, there are quite a lot of used Porsches out there at any given time. Don’t get us wrong, that’s a good thing. Many Porsche fans can’t afford a new 911 and a used one is a reliable way to experience the thrill of owning one. Now color is subjective and we understand that. Your dream 911 might be a Guards Red Targa or a White Cabriolet. You won’t have a hard time finding either one. But we like Porsches in some of the more unusual colors like this Isis Blue Coupe. This could be a perfect used Porsche will strong drive train, original paint and very nice interior. It came out of a collection in Portland and reportedly it was only driven on dry days. The car is equipped with Fuchs wheels and they are free of scrapes. It has the tools, air pump and original spare. These are robust cars that provide remarkable performance but unlike the Ferrari above, can be driven everyday. Before you say it, we know Magnum drove the GTS everyday but that was a TV show. The seller is asking $24,900 and you could probably get it for a little less but it is in the ballpark for nice cars. Click here for the eBay auction.
I’m pretty sure Porsche stopped calling their 911 “SC” after 1983 and that 1984 thru 1989 cars were called simply “Carrera”. After that there were also versions iterations of the name “Carrera”.
I think you are right! I was remembering my last ’79 Ice Blue Targa while writing this.
