Need brawny?: ’87 Toyota Land Cruiser
This model was the first Land Cruiser we owned and it was a good ride. They are virtually indestructible and very capable off-road. Mind you there isn’t one computer on this Cruiser yet it still manages to claw its way out of every bog you go through. They were only available with manual transmission and it is a durable unit. All of these FJ60s had power steering and brakes plus A/C. We must confess to never getting our A/C to work but that was more our priority and not the inability to get it working. We got ours from a family in Tarzana, California and when we got it, it had white wall tires. That changed quickly. If you are interested in a vintage Cruiser, do what we did and find a rust-free truck. The effort is worth it. So this is a truck we would give serious consideration. The interior looks great and that is a telltale sign of how well it was cared for. This one is better than ours was and we thought ours was pretty good. The mileage is relatively low for a ’87. The price is pretty high at $15,800 but we don’t think you’ll find a nicer one than this for less. Click here to contact the seller
