Cute wins: ’60 Fiat 1100 Familiare
If you are a frequent reader, you might remember that our ’67 Mercedes Benz-230S competed in a Concours event here at our home track, Lime Rock Park. It was during the Historic Festival of Speed on Labor Day. We thought our car looked pretty good but there was this little Fiat Station Wagon that won the judge’s heart. That Fiat looks exactly like this one we feature today. Now this example looks pretty nice but it will have to go through a bit of a transformation to get to the level of the Concours winner. That car was pretty spectacular. But regardless of the condition, these cars are pretty darn cute. And if you can get them reliable, you could find them pretty useful unless you live on a steep hill like we do. We aren’t confident the 1048cc engine has the power to get us up the hill. This one has original paint and, as the seller states, amazingly low miles at 65,406. The wheels are original, and so is the spare so there might be some truth to that remark. The 4-speed transmission shifts from the column like our Mercedes and frankly, we have grown to like it up there. The seller is asking $18,500 and that sounds like it could be a good place to start.
