Relisted at a lower price: ’62 Jaguar MK 2 Saloon 3.8
We’ve had a number of these handsome Jaguar Saloons on Mint. Each one we claim to be the best one we’ve seen. The last one, was probably one of those too good to be true cars and we really should follow up and see if we were right. The one before that was a 3.4 in Old English White that was crazy expensive. A Jaguar Club member owns it, and you know how fastidious club members are.
We think that is why there are clubs, so people like us can find really well-sorted, immaculate cars. The Jaguar folks are a lot like Porsche folks. They accept nothing but what is totally appropriate to preserve the character of the car. It appears the seller has followed that to a “T”. We have to say that the silver exterior and red interior is nice on this car but we prefer original color cars and the Opal green it was is a smashing color. It is said to be pretty tidy although it does show signs of use. And you want signs of use. Cars hate sitting around waiting. They make you pay handsomely if you ignore them for any length of time. Another bonus is the 3.8 liter engine that is only one carb away from looking like an E-Type powerplant. And it is a 4-speed floor shift car to boot. So is the perfect event car you’ve been looking for? Maybe. The seller has sorted the car really well according to the list of maintenance items he’s dealt with recently. So maybe this is the get in and drive it kind of car we always look for and never seem to find. Ron’s asking $37,950 Now $34,500.
