Vitamin C: ’67 Porsche 911 Coupe
Wow, another early 911 from California in rust-free condition. This one is a Tangerine Coupe with 88,000 miles and black plates intact. Now this is an early, early 911 before we had Ts and Es to choose from. There were Coupes, Targas in either standard or S versions and that was it. This one began life as a 911 Coupe although it picked up a newer 2.0 liter engine with 4 Webers and an S transmission somewhere along the way. The engine and transmission were recently rebuilt and the engine has a warranty. The seller states that $25,000 has been spent getting this one into the reliable driver it is. Although not inexpensive at $69,900, it does represent some value at this price. That is after a PPI that says it has no needs what so ever. Cosmetically it looks great but again, pictures can present a better car than actually exists. These SWB 911s are prized for their originality. By that I mean, this is the first and purest form of the venerable 901 chassis. You have to bring your A Game when you drive these hard and if we have to tell you why perhaps you should be looking at a really nice Alfa or Lancia. You know, something that won’t bite you in the butt. David Coulthard, Formiula 1 ace, puts it clearly: “Oversteer occurs moments before impact”. We like this one at the asking price of $69,900 because it represents a good jumping off point for negotiation. Click here to see the eBay listing.
