Volvo guy likes this one: ’85 SAAB 900S
You know the story. General Motors (pre-government bail-out) bought SAAB cars and proceeded to run it into the ground. Yes, they built some decent cars based on other GM Europe platforms and that hastened the loss of the spirit of the quirky, yet loveable SAAB. Now, I worked for Volvo for quite a few years and we were conditioned to not like SAABs for any reason. They were front wheel drive and we weren’t until the 850 launch. So we made films about how superior rear wheel drive is to front wheel drive. But I digress. This is one extraordinary SAAB 900S with only 27,900 miles. It looks new in every way. So if you are a real SAAB fan, you need to buy this almost new, pre-GM example. It is a perfect color combination, a sporty 2-door, manual transmission and a non-Turbo. So it won’t be the fastest SAAB out there but probably the newest looking. My money is on this one. Besides, it has R134 A/C that works, an original SAAB stereo and all the books and records.
