Lots of green: ’61 Jaguar MK2, 4-speed
Yes, we have posted a bunch of MK 2 Jaguars and that is because we probably want one ourselves. The 4-speed 3.8 is the one to get but sometimes, condition and price trump power. In this case, it looks like an exceptional example of a 2.4 liter Jaguar with a manual transmission. It has a delicious green interior with wood that just leaps out of the photographs. According to Mike M. who as reviewed these photos, the seats might not be leather but they look okay for the price. If the drivetrain and electrics are in as good a shape as the interior, this is a winner. But not a winner in the speed race. We made the choice between condition and engine size when we bought our Alfa Romeo Stepnose GT. We found a great 1300 GT Junior instead of a 1600cc GTV and was never disappointed. We just worked a little harder keeping up with the pack on rallies and tours. Same here. Enjoy the comfy interior, the 4-wheel disc brakes and don’t worry about arriving late for anything. The price at under $16,000 is compelling and reflects the smaller engine displacement. Click here to contact the seller.
Isn’t it a 3.4 ?
I believe the listing did say 2.4 and they were available with this engine. Here is a quote,”It came with a 120 bhp (89 kW; 120 PS) 2,483 cubic centimetres (152 cu in), 210 bhp (160 kW; 210 PS) 3,442 cubic centimetres (210 cu in) or 220 bhp (160 kW; 220 PS) 3,781 cubic centimetres (231 cu in).” That last engine, the 3.8 was a version of the E-type’s motor with twin carbs.
I never knew they came with such a small displacement…..Live & continue to learn.
Thanks for taking the time……..
