Mint to me: ’76 Toyota Land Cruiser
We thought we would contrast the classy, original Land Rover Series 2A in original condition with a challenger. In this case the challenger is a fully restored Toyota FJ40. This is a very nicely kitted example in a great color for a Cruiser. It has a hi-lift jack, shovel and roof rack plus a host of suspension upgrades. These right out of the box are so competent, we never understood why you need to fool with the package. We were proud owners of a bull of an FJ40 and they are no fun to drive as a commuter. Unless you commute through the Serengeti. The interior looks pretty stock to us and that is a good thing. The asking price of $34,500 isn’t so bad if the quality of the work is up to snuff. We’ve seen body-off restorations go for $80,000 at Mecum. You don’t need to spend that much for a nice one. And this looks to be a nice one. Click here for the eBay listing.
