Ship Shape: ’49 MG TC
There are always quite a few MG TCs on the market but not very many that possess some part of their original paint. Like the Buick Super 8 Convertible we also featured today, that is pretty remarkable for a 64-year-old car. The seller doesn’t tell us much more other than it has a nice new interior. The foul weather gear looks in decent shape too. But here is our big concern, one that hopefully is a matter of poor housekeeping. The engine compartment looks very original but it includes cobwebs and nutshells, the sure sign of this MG doing duel service as a sports car and rodent hotel. Perhaps that is the reason for the new interior? If it is, then we wonder why the owner hasn’t addressed cleaning up the engine bay. This is a bit of a turn off for us but we like Clipper Blue so much we thought why not give it a shot. Just have a close look at the wiring and make sure it hasn’t been nibbled to bits. They weren’t that reliable when they were new. Click here for the eBay auction.
