Cute: ’58 Austin A35
What do James Hunt and Graham Hill have in common besides being Formula 1 champs? They both owned Austin A35 Sedans. Martin Brundle, another F1 ace, drove both a Ferrari GTO and an Austin A35 at Goodwood Revival a few years back. So what do all these people in the know, know what we don’t about the lowly A35? Well, it has a 948cc engine and this featured A35 has a MG Midget Ribcage tranny and clutch. It is also a very low mileage car at 47,000 miles and it is a pretty rare left hand drive version. We’ve seen these charming sedans at rallies and vintage racing events over the years. They must be lots of fun tossing around and you won’t see yourself coming and going. The seller is asking $9800 and that is probably just fine. Kit it out like the Volvo 544 and have some fun. Just don’t count at being at the lunch stop first unless your navigator is awesome.
