Get the goat: ’69 Pontiac GTO
If you have fond memories of the Coke-bottle shaped GM A-bodies, then this might be something to look at. The Coke-bottle body GTO was available with optional hideaway headlights and an energy-absorbing Endura bumper. This was big news in ’68 and then, from out of the orange, comes The Judge. But if you don’t like the flashy Judge graphics and orange paint, a nice standard GTO like today’s featured car is for you. What is nice about this one is the original condition and a near perfect suite of options. This one has working A/C, a 4-speed floor shift, power windows and hide away headlights. The Lime Light finish has a lot of original paint left and the interior is original. The Goat comes with a logbook for most of the maintenance it has received through the years. The Buy It Now price is $37,000 and that seems to be an appropriate place to start negotiating. Hagerty has #3 cars at $26,000, #2 at $47,000 and #1 at $63,000. It is probably a #2.5 but originality, equipment and documentation adds value. Click here to see the eBay listing.
Whoa, the prices on these have gone up tremendously in recent years… But so have the values of almost every single muscle car. Such a shame they’re not as affordable as they used to be even 3 years ago. Makes me wish this recent price increase was really just a bubble about to burst…
