Halloween Special: ’64 Jaguar XKE FHC
We have a real weak spot for a good E-Type Coupe. Here is a 1964 Jaguar 3.8L Series I E-Type Fixed Head Coupe (FHC) finished in black over biscuit. This is an unrestored Jaguar with a reported 57,000 original miles on it. Being an unrestored car, the black finish, while showing its age, polishes up nicely, the glass is in excellent condition and the brightwork shows only minimal wear. The original chrome knock-off wheels are wrapped in Michelin radial tires with plenty of remaining tread. This is a no hit, no rust car with factory gaps in place. The bisquit interior has patina and maintains original gauges and a period correct working radio. This one is a runner with no immediate issues to deal with. This car is priced pretty strongly at $74,000 but there is a premium for originality one would think. Hagerty is a bit stronger with #2 cars at $65,000 and original cars are almost never #2. But these early Coupes are marching in the right direction. The seller, Goodman Reed represents their inventory well and we know people happy with their purchases from them.
