Something different: ’72 TVR Vixen 2500
Trevor Wilkinson is responsible, so you can thank him for the opportunity to have a ton of fun for not a lot of money. The TVR Vixen was a limited production and very focused car that evolved from the earlier Grantura. The Vixen is powered by Triumph’s torquey inline-6 from the TR6. The Vixen is constructed with tubular frame and fiberglass bodywork. All independent double wishbone suspension was used front and rear, with rack & pinion steering and front disc brakes. Just 385 examples of the Vixen 2500 were built, making them rare finds today anywhere. Today’s featured Vixen is offered by one of the most well respected dealers in the west – Fantasy Junction. It is a four owner car with decades of known history. Its most recent owner, purchased the car from a fellow who had owned it for many years. According to the long-term owner, the indicated mileage of 55,438 is from new. We love the houndstooth check seats and the sunroof. The car was restored in 2005 and comes with miscellaneous invoices back to the mid 1980s. It was shown at the TVR Car Club of North America events in Carlisle in 2006 and 2007, where it won special mention awards both times. So if you want to have some fun and stand out from the sea of Triumph and MGs, you should consider this one. Hagerty and SCM agree that the best in the world (and this could be it) should sell for less than a decent TR6 or well under $20,000. But since it is Fantasy Junction, they might not let it go for that. You never know. Click here for the eBay listing.
