All in the family: ’58 Austin-Healey 100-6
The 100-6 is the first of the big Healeys. While the Austin-Healey 100 was named for its 100 mph top speed, the 100-6 was named because, well because it was a six. It seems Donald Healey didn’t spend too much time thinking of a new name for the virtually all new Healey model. Most Healey fans find the 100-6 to be the least exciting of all of the Big Healeys but times have changed. Now all Healeys would be a welcome addition to any household. Today’s Healey is a classic in Olde English White with red leather interior. Save for one repaint, the car is original. It is currently owned by the same family since new. The interior, the tonneau, side curtains with pouch and top are original to the car. Needless to say the 49,000 miles are probably pretty well documented. Hagerty has a 4-seater (BN4) 100-6 roadsters anywhere from $30,000 for restorable cars to over $100,000 for a fully restored trailer queen. The selling family is asking $40,000 and it is definitely a good place to start. If it has a reasonably good repaint from back in ’76, we would leave it as is. Click here for the Craigslist ad.
