Another Fly Yellow: ’74 Alfa Romeo GTV 2000
This is yet another Alfa Romeo GTV for you to consider. We have owned and looked at so many of these over the past few years and the one thing we learned is not to go by pictures alone. This one looks pretty nice and it clearly appears to be a full restoration. So the quality of the work becomes critical. The interior does look very nicely done and the seller says it is done in leather. If it is, then that is an upgrade. But these are pretty nice quarters for you and your passenger. The engine still has its SPICA injection system. We always find it interesting to see who keeps this complex system and who bails for a set of Webers. The SPICA pump is expensive to restore and Wes Ingram is the guy who is known for doing them. He will inscribe his initials on the side of every unit he does. So this one either was running well before the restoration, or the previous owner cared about originality. That is a good sign. The wheels are those great 5-star Cromodoras and we like them very much. Now the yellow is said to be Fly but we are pretty sure that is not an actual Alfa color name. There should be a paint tag in the trunk that tells the truth. More than likely the previous owner selected Fly Yellow during the restoration. Alfa Romeo Historic will respond to an email inquiry about this or any Alfa under consideration at no charge. Helpful to shoppers and owners alike. So who knows where this one will end up. If the body was done well and the car runs nicely with no issues, then the high $20s should do the trick. Click here for the eBay listing.
