Sunshine: ’72 Austin Mini
We found this ’72 Austin Mini at a dealer in New Hampshire that seems to find some neat cars. The Mini looks cute as ever and nicely restored. It is Left Hand Drive for those who get a bit nervous on the other side here in the States. Power is delivered by the original 52ci and 34hp 4-cylinder engine with a single side draft carburetor. But we all know what can be done to make these go scary fast. The body is straight and the dealer tells us there is no rust or rot in the restoration. The seats and door panels are in very good to excellent condition. The trunk or boot is also in perfect condition as is the glass. All of gauges and major systems are all functioning properly as is the electrically operated (really?) panoramic sunroof. The mileage is reported to be 58,000 but no documentation is reported. We would say that every rally we have participated in has one of these shoe boxes and they always do well and are crowd favorites. We would cure the 34hp issue with some serious mods or perhaps an engine swap and install a bunch of rally lights up front. Click here to see the eBay listing.
