Bugged: ’63 Volkswagen Beetle Sedan
This could be one of the shortest Mint listings of all time. We can’t say anything you don’t already know about a Beetle. Well maybe just this. We were wondering who came up with the endearing term Beetle or Bug. It was officially known as the Type 1 Sedan. We thought is was some clever ad creative executive who came up with it. Like the genius behind the Fahrvergnügen campaign. Turns out the name has a very un-cutsey origin. It was the way Adolf Hitler described what he envisioned for the new people’s car. He said it needed to look like a beetle or a bug, rounded in shape. The name stuck. And that leads us to this very original Beetle located right here in Mint’s own backyard. Everything is original except the air in the tires. It even has the Hazet Tool Kit intact. The exterior paint is one of our favorites: Gulf Blue. You don’t see an original Bug very often and the price at $14,500 reflects the owner’s opinion of the value. Hagerty as #2 cars at that price so how does originality add to the number?
