Family treasure: ’51 Jaguar XK120 OTS
We’ve had many XK120s on Mint and each one of them presents an interesting opportunity for someone in the market. The last 2 were in various stages of decay or just in need of a little assembly. Today’s featured car is interesting because it might not be that far away from being a tatty driver with some nice provenance. It has been in the same family since the ’50s and it has allegedly covered only 15,000 miles. Now we know that might not be the best thing for a car but we wouldn’t rule this one out. It was repainted a long time ago in a dark blue. It is originally a white car. The listing indicates some work was recently done to get it running probably so it could be sold easier. It looks pretty scruffy on the outside and the engine bay isn’t any better. The interior we are told is new. It has a full complement of weather gear. The asking price is $60,000. Hagerty says that is condition #4 pricing. Sounds right to us. Wouldn’t it be neat if it ran well enough to keep it this way until the values warrant a full restoration? Click here for the listing.
