Mountains high: ’84 Land Rover Defender 110
There is something about a vehicle that has an attitude. Most cars are designed not to possess an attitude but to reflect a marketing department’s dream of what will sell. True, some get lucky and produce a car that says something about itself while sitting in the driveway like a bulldog standing by the front door waiting to go out. The LR Defender 110 is one of those vehicles. They are the Sherpas of the automobile world. This one is pretty nicely done with a restoration completed by Himalaya 4X4 some time ago. Everything that typically goes wrong with these has been attended to. Not many cars need to have a bulkhead replaced during restoration but that is a fairly frequent occurence in a Defender. New floors too but that is fairly common in many older cars. This one is powered by a 300Tdi engine that can produce 30 mpg for years on end. The seller has only owned the Rover for a year and it is an auction so setting a price for this one is difficult. But if you have ever desired a left hand drive diesel-powered truck to get you through anything should the grid actually go down, this is your chance. Click here for the eBay auction.
The Defender is a classic, and this is a great one!
