Paddy would be pleased: ’67 Mini Cooper S
We have featured lots of Minis before but we are pleased to say that this one is a real Cooper S. Yes, the model that served as the platform for one of the most successful rally cars of the period. A real giant killer, the Cooper S is. It is a RHD import converted to LHD and that isn’t as hard as in most cars because the gauges are in the middle. The seller has done a terrific job of keeping it as original looking as possible yet adding things that would enhance the driving experience. No need for us to drone on repeating what he says in the listing. A few notables are the increase in engine displacement using an A+ MiniMania motor with a Weber carb. The fuel line is Aeroquip (something we need to do with our Mercedes) and there is a limited slip differential. The interior uses period correct materials and colors and sports a discreet roll bar for safety. The exterior is finished in the original Olde English White color and the addition of fender flares looks just right. We can only imagine how much serious fun this car must be. the seller is asking $28,500 and that sounds like a pretty fair deal. SCM Price Guide has the Cooper S as a B-rated, 4-star collectible with a high price of $39,000. Please, someone who lives nearby buy this one. We want a ride. Click here for the listing.
