Like it but: ’66 Volvo 122S Station Wagon
Yes, this might be the nicest, over-restored Volvo 122S in the world but we can’t imagine paying $21,500 for it. Can’t believe we just wrote that because this happens to a bucket list car for us. We love them madly. Our intrepid car-finder and friend has a similar car except (a big except) it is mostly original right down to the first family’s USA pictorial travel stickers adorning the rear side glass. They are like Scout badges and very cool. We are sure you could get repros and paste them on this Volvo’s window but that would be shameful.
In our area in the Northwest corner of Connecticut, we see a 122S wagon that was for sale on BaT maybe 2 years ago. It is pale green and has a faded logo from a Oregon winery painted on the doors. It too is in really nice original condition. If you have the sheckles to spend, go for this one because it is probably the nicest one available at present. Our only complaint is the modern radio.
It must go into the glove box or somewhere it can’t be seen. The sellers at Chequered Flag are fairly well-known and have a decent reputation for finding great cars. Expensive cars but we would guess if we bought a rough one, it would cost us this much or more to make it as nice. Click here for the listing.
