When you hear Lotus, you think of all of the innovation Colin Chapman brought to the art of sports car manufacturing. It became the essential British Sports Car of the ’60s. Light weight, a reasonably stiff backbone chassis, a willing twin-cam engine and a perfectly tuned suspension translated into loads of fun…if you were less than 6 feet tall. Elans are pretty small. At 1517 pounds it could sprint to 60 mph in 7.8 seconds. Not too shabby for a car with 110hp. We have one of our frequent contributors to thank for this one. Read More

Frankly, we never really understood how cool the Surrey Top Triumphs are, probably because we never saw a really nice one. We did a few months ago as did our friend, Michael M.. He is hot to trot to find a nice one so you better beat him to the phone for this one. He likes original cars too, bumps and all. And this one has its share of cosmetic issues but it is all there and very original. The listing says it is an original owner car with 64,700 miles. It is a garage find so it will need a thorough going over mechanically to be made road worthy. Read More

The 4-door model 300 had its launch at the Frankfurt Motor Show in April 1951. It featured elegant modernist bodywork atop Mercedes’ proven X-frame chassis. The 300 was powered by an all new 3.0 litre overhead cam, aluminum head straight 6 coupled to a 4-speed all-synchromesh manual gearbox or automatic. The 300’s frame was made of ovoid steel tubes, with a double wishbone, coil spring axle and stabilizer bar up front and Mercedes’ typical double coil spring rear swing axle. The four-door 300 models were often referred to as Adenauers after Konrad Adenauer, the first Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany who served in office from 1949 to 1963. Read More

Not only is this one really great MGA Twin Cam it is also presented in a manner worthy of the condition and rarity. Kudos to the seller for being so detailed. So we will let the listing speak for itself and it is worth the time to read and discover all that went in to making this a competitive yet potentially streetable Twin Cam. The seller/builder frequently vintage raced this Twin Cam and participated in the Monterey Historics and the Coronado Speed Week. There is so much more to know about this one. Read More

We found this early MGB and thought it had some pretty good curb appeal. Being an early car, allegedly one of the first 2200 MGBs, it has all of the classic good looks and details like the steel dash and pull handles prized by collectors. The interior looks really nice and has great patina. the mileage is claimed to be 24,000 and the seller believes it may be original. Read More

Here we have a not-so-classic Mercedes Benz 300TD Sedan. We are big fans of these and the Diesel powerplant is known for insane longevity. Therefore the 72,000 miles it has already covered is not to be worrisome. The rest of the Mercedes reflects their old school build quality. Drive one and it will feel totally robust and indestructible. It will also be relatively comfortable with the legendary firm Mercedes seats. It is a California car until it went East in 2012 to a collector. Read More

We’ve mentioned this every time we find a decent 1800S – they were ignored for a long time but no more. The styling thought to be a bit flamboyant years ago, has matured nicely. In fact, it is a very distinctive design that has stood the test of time. Our featured 1800S is finished in an off white or, as the seller says, “cream” color. It was restored a number of years ago and there is a new red interior done with the appropriate cut & sew pattern. Read More
