Good old days: ’75 Mercedes-Benz 300TurboDiesel
Here we have a not-so-classic Mercedes Benz 300TD Sedan. We are big fans of these and the Diesel powerplant is known for insane longevity. Therefore the 72,000 miles it has already covered is not to be worrisome. The rest of the Mercedes reflects their old school build quality. Drive one and it will feel totally robust and indestructible. It will also be relatively comfortable with the legendary firm Mercedes seats. It is a California car until it went East in 2012 to a collector. This should be pressed into service as someone’s daily driver and not relegated to some heated storage facility. They built plenty of these and yes, the condition is special but the car isn’t. We love driving modern cars with all of the bells & whistles. Our daily driver has lots of neat stuff from heated seats, Bluetooth, rear backup camera and power everything. But we’ve had a few experience with cars that are burdened with so many electronics that repairing them gets really costly. Parts for older Mercedes-Benz cars like today’s find aren’t cheap but they are simple to get in and out of the car when they go wrong. The asking price is $17,500 and we know a shop in California that might charge a lot more for a similar car. Click here for the listing.
