Bling: ’58 Buick Century Hardtop
We think the ’58 Buick represent the most extravagant use of brightwork on almost any car of the ’50s and ’60s. Chrome seems to be everywhere on these cars. They were quite popular back then as were all Buicks. These Century Riviera Hardtops were among the first of its kind, introduced by GM in ’55 or ’56 we think. Buick also juiced these Hardtops with some good power. Today’s featured Buick is exceptional and original. In the juice department, it has a 300hp, 364ci nailhead V8 and that is sufficient to move the car along and operate all of the accessories with power to spare. This one is just in remarkable original condition, inside and out. It was purchased at Kaufman Buick in Spokane and has had only 3 owners in its life time. Cumulatively, all 3 owners were only able to manage 40,000 miles. That shows lots of self-restraint because this car is probably just wonderful to drive. Almost everything works and the bits that don’t won’t set the new owner back any large sum of money. The new owner needs to share in the joy of ownership by getting their hands dirty. These aren’t expensive cars even in this condition. The most expensive comp we could find was in the mid $20,000 range. This one is a real opportunity for someone who has always wanted one.
