On Guard: ’85 Porsche Carrera Coupe
You’d think that the head of design at Bugatti, Achim Anscheidt, would have some kind of über complex hypercar as personal ride. That would be incorrect; it’s a back-to-basics Porsche 911 that started out life much like this featured Porsche. Okay, we get it. We are overly influenced by a well-produced video like this one (Achim’s Porsche). But you have to be pre-disposed to loving Porsches for the effect to take hold. So we have mandated that our next project car/daily driver will be something like his. Maybe not as “cost no objecty”, but cool. So we set out to look or fantasize about what our donor Porsche might look like and we came up with this one. It is a pretty nice 911 with an already rebuilt motor. Can’t fault us for going Guards Red with black can you? It has A/C and that is something I think Achim did without. We would go a little more RS austere than Achim. After all we don’t get a Bugatti company car like he does (we don’t actually know if he does). Since we are not yet in the market, we will allow our readers to snag this one and leave it just the way it is. For $25,000 with a solidly rebuilt engine, you can’t go too wrong.
