65 Shades of Gray: ’65 Mercedes-Benz 220S Fintail
Here is another case of fintail jealousy. Look at the body on this one. We don’t know it but it sure looks like it is an original paint car or a decent repaint. We like it because, like ours, it is a column mounted 4-speed. We would have waited for a floor shift car for ourselves but have grown to appreciate the convenience of a column shift. We sort of like it better. At least on a big, old Mercedes. The listing tells us it is an original 73,000 mile car with a decent looking red interior. Ours is better but maybe you can make this one work. Depending on what you want to do with it, you might consider leaving it be. Boy, would we like to see this one in person! The asking price reflects what the seller thinks the condition is. At $15,000 it is one of the most expensive Finnies out there. That is not to say we haven’t sunk more into ours ’cause we have. But our starting off price was half of this one. If you aren’t a Fintail fan yet, you can become an admirer by buying this one. They are remarkable. Click here for the listing.
