Bubble-icious: ’61 Pontiac Ventura Hardtop
There is no doubt that the GM bubble tops of ’61 are among the handsomest cars of the period. We are partial to the Pontiac Ventura because we think it has a nice blend between style and performance. Today’s find is in a beautiful Bristol blue with 2-tone grey interior. It is a 348cid, tri-power with a 4-speed transmission. It is also equipped with those fabulous 8-lug wheels that are terribly expensive and worth every penny of it. Now the seller tells us this one has a racing history. If it does, it was obliterated in the restoration. It is said to have competed against Richard Petty in the Carolinas back in the day. That might be adding something to the premium price the seller is asking. The price is $80,000 and although it looks like a great example, it is pretty expensive. Click here for the listing.
This one is perfection. Best looking for the bubbletops. Right equipment and color. Some lucky person is going to have some fun.
